A Little Cameron Update

Thoughts on this post-partum thing...
I guess you can call me naive, but I honestly thought that I would give birth, we would leave the hospital 2 days later and I would be back to walking the boulevard, shopping and laying in the sun within a few weeks.
Of course, things changed quickly since we were in the hospital for EIGHT days and Cameron hasn’t stopped crying since he was three days old.

We have been trying really hard to get Cam on some kind of routine which includes putting him in his bassinet to sleep - both for nighttime and naps.

Prayers, Please
We learned last week that one of Chad’s childhood family friends, Jill, passed away while on vacation with her husband. Jill was five months pregnant and got taken under by a rip current - her husband tried to keep her afloat for 30 minutes, but she ended up passing away at the hospital.

Us Lately
Well, let me start off by saying that his mother thing is a lot harder than I imagined. It’s taking a village to take care of Cameron and I couldn’t be more thankful for all of the help we have received from Chad’s mom, my mom and Marguerite. Chad’s mom was here for 12 days and allowed me to shower, eat and pick up. Marguerite came for 3 days and was the most patient person...
2 Week Update
We had Cameron’s 2 week check-up today and he is still “perfect!” he weighs 8lbs 2oz (30th percentile) and is 21” (90th percentile). The doctor thinks he may have a little reflux, which we will watch, but otherwise everything is normal!!
A typical day for a newborn
We have officially been home from the hospital for one week and we are slowly getting into a routine - sleep, eat, change diaper, repeat.
But seriously, sweet little Cam is such a ham and has been a super sweet newborn so far! Here is a typical day for us:
8am - wakey wakey Cam’s hungry! I feed him 3oz (or as much as he wants) and pray he goes back to sleep. He usually does for an hour...
